In a lecture at the Information Affairs Office for Deputy Prime Minister, Former Senior Advisor to the Executive Office of the UN Secretary General Frederick C. Dubee praised the wise policy of H.H. President Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan who considers man the real wealth in building the state.

Dubee highlighted the great attention paid by the United Arab Emirates to human resources, through developing human potential, improving living standards and using wealth for the benefit of the people.

Dubee said that Sheikh Khalifa's words "are supported with powerful examples which can be seen in tremendous investments that are being made in education, in the training of national cadres" for developing their "proficiency and competency".

He said the UAE has pushed forward the process of development to reach a harmonious society, quoting H.H. late Sheikh Zayed as saying: "Man is the real wealth, before oil and after oil".

The lecturer stressed that the success of the UAE in achieving development has come as a result of setting concrete objectives, clear policies, and consequent priorities. He quoted HH President Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan as saying "our paramount objective is to develop our country as well as its human resources". He said that such objectives cannot be reached without strong and visionary leadership and without the "contribution of all members and sectors of society".

Dubee also asserted that on the international level, the UAE has set an example and is acting as the leading edge. He called on companies and business communities in the UAE to continue their role in achieving sustainable development. "In harmony with the thought of H.H. Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who has hailed the Gulf as a Region of Peace", Dubee said he believed that "the UAE is ideally positioned to become a world centre for research and dialogue into peace and development".

The lecturer also spoke in detail about the guidelines of the United Nations Global Compact Program and its role in deepening understanding between companies, businesses and societies to face challenges on the internal and external levels. (Emirates News Agency, WAM)
