The Emirates Investment Authority (EIA) approved the financial statement for 2008 and the second investment plan after the first one reported high medium term return.

In a meeting presided over yesterday by its chairman H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Presidential Affairs, the EIA heard a presentation on the EIA's strategic investment plan and prospects for setting up new companies and forging strategic partnerships on key sectors of priority of high return on investment (ROI).

The EIA sees the telecommunication sector as one of the most profitable sectors that the EIA should pump investment in.

The meeting was attended by HE Mohammad Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs and EIA Deputy Chairman and members of the board.

The EIA was formed in November 2008 with a mandate to manage federal government investment. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
