The ‘UAE Compassion' (Tarahamu) campaign to help Syrian refugees survive severe cold and snowstorm in the Levant has raised Dh 177 million by Sunday evening, the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) announced.

The campaign was launched on Tuesday under the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. The humanitarian and relief campaign seeks to raise funds to provide winter aid for one million refugees and people in the Levant countries.

He added that a cargo plane carrying 40 tones of relief supplies, winter clothes and food parcels, left for Jordan yesterday and then will be trucked to beneficiaries in refugee camps. – Emirates News Agency, WAM - http://www.wam.ae/en/news/emirates/1395274948244.html
