EWHG conducts 36 hear surgeries in Jordan

Amman - The UAE Red Crescent sponsored Emirates World Heart Group ended yesterday a week-long medical visit to Jordan after conducting a number heart surgeries and training courses and participating in a medical conference. Dr. Saleh Al Taie, Director of Relief Section at the UAE Red Crescent Society (RCS) said the humanitarian mission to Jordan was in line with instructions of President H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to help poor heart patients in Jordan.



The team, he said, comprised renowned cardiac specialists from Holland, Canada, South Africa, Egypt, Sudan and Jordan. Dr. Adil Al Shamri, head of the team, said 36 heart surgeries (six for open heart and 30 for catheterisation) were conducted over the week. In addition to that he said, 48 cardiac specialists had been trained. (The Emirates News Agency, WAM)
