He noted the UAE was among the first responders to humanitarian appeals to alleviate suffering of Syrian refugees through delivery of combine free of charge curative, surgical and preventive services.

The Jordanian top aid worker, who was briefed by UAE Cardiologist Adel Al Shameri, Director of the Hospital, about various units of the hospital, lauded what he had seen as a 'qualitative leap' in medical relief.

The field hospital houses mobile state-of-the-art specialist clinics with Emergency Medical Unit (EMU), Outpatient and Inpatient Services, Intensive Care Unit (ICU), surgery theatre, pharmacy, and an integrated laboratory.

Andrew Harper, Representative of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Jordan, credited efforts the UAE medical team is making to assist Syrian refugees but stressed the importance of joint UAE-UNHCR cooperation to develop an action plan to reach out to various refugee camps.
