Emirates Heritage Exhibition opens in Beirut
posted on 17/10/2009

An exhibition to showcase UAE heritage to the world has been held here in the Lebanese capital. Lebanese Tourism Minister, Elli Maroni and UAE Ambassador, Rahma Hussein Al-Za'abi, attended the opening ceremony of the exhibition organised at the Al-Habtoor Grand Hotel by "Asraar", a UAE-based exhibition organising company.
In a key note address, Farida Al-Awadhi, CEO of Asraar, said her outfit decided tolaunch the exhibition in Lebanon before doing so anywhere else in the world.
The Chairman of the Lebanese Business Council in Dubai and the Northern Emirates,Joseph Nahra, mentioned in a statement the reasons behind launching the exhibition in Lebanon before anywhere else. He also referred to the strong UAE-Lebanon ties.
For his part, the Lebanese Tourism Minister praised the UAE-Lebanon bilateral relations and described those ties as very special. "This night of heritage re-affirms the strong relations between the two countries within the framework of cultural and environmental interactions," he said and called for the setting up of Arab tourism basket and for the cancellation of entry visa among Arab countries to enable Arab citizens to gain visa-free entry into all Arab countries without any obstacle. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
