The Emirates Palace's third round Golf tournament started yesterday at the Abu Dhabi Golf Club with a number of professional players from the UAE and around the world.
Hans Olbertz, General Manager of Emirates Palace, said the tournament was a large success, during a speech at the ceremony held by the Palace last night to honour the winners of the third session of the tournament, which involved more than 132 players.
Adding that the palace has signed a two year contract with the Abu Dhabi Golf Club to launch its Championship in order to stimulate and attract more players nationally and from abroad.
He said during the ceremony, which was held to honour winners of the tournament's third round, "The Emirates Palace is keen to interact with the sports community and to attract local and international players to come and compete in Abu Dhabi." Olbertz honoured the winners in a special ceremony, attended by a large number Of businessmen, professional golfers, Emirates Palace's officials and members of the Abu Dhabi Golf Club.
Throughout this tournament, which is the third of its kind, were a series of sporting and entertainment events. Most importantly was hosting an event to honour a number of VIP characters, as Olbertz expressed a message of gratitude to prominent heads and managers of companies, in recognition of their endless support to the Emirates Palace.
He also provided a detailed explanation, using pictures and videos, of the unique advantages the Emirates Palace enjoys and potentials that made the palace one of the most luxurious hotels in the world.
In addition, he referred to the most important artistic and cultural events to be held in Abu Dhabi during the next couple of months, especially the opening of the new Ferrari World in Yas Island, the Formula-1 race championship, along with associated events. He said that the Emirates Palace will host, the Abu Dhabi Film Festival, the Universal Abu Dhabi Art Gallery, celebrate the UAE's 39th national day and host the largest concert celebrating New Year's eve.
