The Emirates Post on Wednesday opened its offices throughout the country to the general public to collect donations from all those who wish to contribute to the emergency humanitarian assistance campaign aimed at alleviating the sufferings of the Lebanese people.

The step, which was in collaboration with the UAE Red Crescent Society (RCS), is in line with the directives of Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the RCS, Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The Emirates Post said all its 82 offices will facilitate the collection of donations from the various parts of the country to the closest post office outlet to be transferred to the RCS for onward delivery to the Lebanese people.

According to Emirates Post Acting Director General, Salim Al Shaya, his outfit regards it a national duty upon all individuals and organisations in the country "to rush to the rescue and assistance of our Lebanese brothers and sisters." (Emirates News Agency, WAM)
