In implementation of directives from President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the United Arab Emirates has sent a ship loaded with 830 tons of relief aid to support the humanitarian situation in Yemen. The move also follows the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, the orders of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and the follow up of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in the Western Region and Chairman of the Emirates Red Crescent.

The ship, which was sent by the Emirates Red Crescent, left the country carrying 650 tons of food materials and 180 tons of medications and medical supplies, to strengthen the areas of humanitarian response for the benefit of those affected by the recent events in Yemen.

The distribution of aid is implemented in coordination and cooperation with regional and international humanitarian organisations currently working in the Yemeni arena, that are playing an active role in alleviating the suffering of those affected and improving humanitarian conditions.

The Emirates Red Crescent is strengthening its efforts in Yemen in the near future to ward off the effects of the Yemeni crisis which has affected a large number of the brotherly people of Yemen. - Emirates News Agency, WAM -http://www.wam.ae/en/news/emirates/1395280266883.html
