Emirates World Humanitarian medical team performs rare open heart surgery in Bosnia

The medical team of Emirates World Humanitarian Mobile Hospital in Bosnia-Herzegovina carried out a rare surgery to remove a tumor from the heart of a patient in her sixties.

The three hours surgery was done by International Emirati-French team of surgeons, led by the UAE national heart Surgeon Dr. Adel Al Shamri, Chief Executive of the Emirates World Mobile Hospital and Chairman of the Emirates Heart Group.

Dr. Al Shamri said that condition of the patient after surgery is stable and she is expected to leave the hospital within next few days.

The medical team of the Emirates World Humanitarian Mobile Hospital has conducted more than 20 open-heart surgeries as part of a plan for conducting 100 heart surgeries for children and elderly as well as training medical personnel in Bosnia in the field of cardiac surgery. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
