Emirati-Korean Friendship Society launched

The Emirati-Korea Friendship Society (EKFS) was launched Monday to promote cultural exchange between the two countries and build more bridges between the two communities.

The new society seeks to encourage Emiratis to organise joint events and exhibitions in collaboration with the official South Korean bodies in order to introduce the cultures of each country to the other, according to Chairman of the Society Hamad Al-Hammadi in remarks at the launch ceremony in Abu Dhabi.

The body will also contribute to publishing researches and news bulletins on South Korea in the UAE.

Al-Hammadi said both the great heritage which has been preserved over the years.

The Society will collaborate on organising the South Korean Film Festival between 5-8 April at the Breakwater Theatre in Abu Dhabi, he noted.

Performances from South Korea's heritage and an exhibition of the country's traditional food will also be organised during forthcoming event. - Emirates News Agency, WAM
