Emirati filmmaker gets buzz for short film

The Emirati filmmaker Hassan Kiyany will soon discover whether his short film I See What You See has been shortlisted by a jury to appear on the website of the Tribeca Film Festival. The shortlist will be announced on April 26. Like all entrants, Kiyany used Twitter's new video-recording app Vine, which was launched in January and allows users to record a six-second movie. He had to meet the competition's criteria including choosing a specific genre plus telling a story with a defined beginning, middle and end. Jack Dorsey, the creator of Twitter, even tweeted about the film earlier this week. Check out Kiyany's submission on http://www.hassankiyany.com or visit http://www.tribecafilm.com for more information. – The National
