Washington D.C. - Over 400 Emirati students studying at various universities in North America gathered together in Washington to celebrate the 37th anniversary of the UAE National Day.
The event between Nov. 29-30 was organised at an invitation from the UAE ambassador to the US Yusuf Mana Al Otaiba as part of the continued interaction between the UAE community and the embassy.
The office of the cultural attaché at the UAE embassy organised the event enlivening the national occasion and reassuring about the well being of the Emirati students in US and Canada.
Charge d'Affaires Omer Obeid Al Shamisi addressed the students on behalf of the ambassador and called on them to represent UAE's radiant culture and civilisation while living and studying abroad.
He also asked them to exert all their efforts to study, learn and absorb knowledge, science and technology to serve the cause of their motherland in future.
UAE's Cultural Attaché in Washington Asma Mohammed Al Katbi thanked the ambassador for patronising the event, and the students for coming over to Washington from various parts of the North America to participate in the national day celebrations.
Several students also made cultural presentations, which included folklore, songs, and a short stage drama. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
