Energy and Environment Exhibition to be held in February in Abu Dhabi

The Abu Dhabi International Exhibition Centre will host the "Energy and Environment Exhibition and conference” from February 2-5, 2003. The exhibition, which will be held under the patronage of President H.H Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, will be attended by a number of experts and environmentalists from around the world. It will be organised by the General Exhibitions Corporation in coordination with he Environmental Research and Wild Life Development Agency (ERWDA). "A number of environment and energy ministers of various Arab and foreign countries will attend this exhibition to discuss different agreements on environmental conservation,” Majid Al Mansoury, Director of (ERWDA), said in a statement to the Emirates News Agency.



He pointed out that the exhibition will be a forum to exchange views, ideas and information between decision makers, scientists, industrialists, environmentalists and economists. The participants, Al Mansoury added, will focus on the sustainable utilization of energy and technology in the Environment, and set out a comprehensive environmental and energy strategy for the Gulf region. It will also enhance the recommendations of the " Abu Dhabi Declaration” on sustainable development. The Conference will review the "Friendly Energy Technology", and how to improve its effect and reduce its consequences on the environment. (The Emirates News Agency, WAM)
