Etihad Airways Supports Red Crescent with In-Flight Guest Donations

posted on 15/11/2005: 779 views

Guests of Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, will soon be able to make in-flight donations to the UAE Red Crescent Society, following the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) between the airline and worldwide humanitarian organization.

The Red Crescent Society operates in all areas of the world which suffer from poverty, war, displacement and disaster and serves those in need without regard as to race, religion, class or political belief.

Donation envelopes will be placed on aircraft on all Etihad Airways routes and guests will be able to donate any loose change, currency or residual balance of undesired foreign currency for charity projects to help some of the world's most vulnerable people. The currency collected by Etihad Airways cabin crew on each flight will be given to a Red Crescent representative, after which the cumulative donations will go towards humanitarian, charitable and philanthropic schemes.
