The Foreign Ministry has launched a national campaign to publicise "my presence", an online service provided by the ministry for UAE nationals, wishing to travel abroad. As per the service, those planning to travel abroad are requested to fill data in the official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The move comes under the ministry's eagerness to communicate with citizens when travelling outside the country, especially in cases of crisis and emergencies to provide them with guidance and advice regarding what they must do during crises. This was announced by Ambassador Sultan Mohammed Al Ali, director of the Department of the Government Communication and Information Affairs at the ministry.
He reiterated that the service has succeeded, citing that the UAE nationals who registered in the programme during the campaign from May 30 to June 30, 2010, were 28, 916, indicating that the registration depicts high sense of awareness and responsibility. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
