Four UAE military aircrafts carrying relief supplies landed in Beirut on Tuesday as part of an air bridge to Lebanon, ordered by General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.

The UAE Red Crescent Society (RCS) which is overseeing the relief operations has so far airlifted 230 tonnes of relief supplies to victims of the current conflict in Lebanon. The UAE is engaged in ambitious plans, in collaboration with various local organisations and charity agencies, to extend a helping hand to the Lebanese people in this hour of need.

Relief delegates from UAE are busy coordinating and following up with regional and international humanitarian agencies operating in Lebanon with the aim of rendering humanitarian services to the victims of the conflict between Lebanon and Israel. The UAE also evacuated 12 people wounded during the current Israeli air strikes against Lebanon. The victims are currently receiving medication at Zayed Military Hospital in Abu Dhabi. Four more planes loaded with relief supplies will leave for Beirut tomorrow. (Emirates News Agency, WAM)
