In a challenging test on the soil of Europe, purebred Arabian champion 'Fryvolous' owned by President HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan leapt into a thunderous victory at the Abu Dhabi International Stakes held in England's traditional Newmarket racecourse on Wednesday.
The event, which is part of the President's Cup races series sponsored by Emirates Equestrian Federation (EEF), was witnessed by Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Dubai Deputy Ruler and UAE Minister of Finance HH Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
The exciting event, which put eight horses in the field, was also witnessed by the wife of HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, HRH Princess Haya Bint Hussain and a number of senior officials and racehorse owners along with a large crowd of racing enthusiasts.
The spectators cheered as the six-year-old Fryvolous was ridden into glorious victor by his jockey Daragh O'Donohoe.
The Stake was organised as per directives from HH Dr. Sultan Bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, member of Executive Council and Chairman of the EEF. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
