GCC ministers of justice ratify Abu Dhabi Convention on Unified Laws for Combating Human Trafficking

Kuwait - The Ministers of Justice in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) concluded their 22nd meeting on Thursday. The ministers agreed on a number of decisions pertaining to the draft bills which have been submitted for ratification by the leaders of the member states in the GCC within the framework of judicial and legislative integration and coordination among the member states

Minister of Justice Dr. Hadef Jouan Al Dhahiri who headed the UAE delegation to the meeting extended a formal invitation to the justice ministers of GCC countries to attend the 23rd meeting to be held in Abu Dhabi next year

Al Dhahiri said that the ministerial meetings enhances the GCC march based on constructive cooperation through consultation and exchange of opinions to address the common challenges

The meeting approved a number of uniform laws including the Abu Dhabi Convention on Unified Law of Reconciliation and Amicable Settlement of disputes and the Abu Dhabi Convention of Unified Law for Combating Human Trafficking. A number of other laws which came up for discussion were reserved for further studies and analysis before submitting them for ratification by the Heads of the States. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
