Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Abdul Rahman Al-Attiyah yesterday renewed the GCC's support for the UAE's right to sovereignty over the issue of the three islands- Abu Musa and the Greater Tunb and the Lesser Tunb which are still under Iranian occupation.

"The three islands are an indivisible part of the UAE soil", Al Attiyah said in a speech at the start of the second meeting of the speakers of GCC Shoura councils, houses of representatives and parliaments which started today in the Omani capital.

He further urged Iran to respond "to the UAE's repeated calls for resolving the issue through direct negotiations or recourse to the International Court of Justice. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
