Gargash meets US official to combat human trafficking

Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Dr. Anwar Mohammed Gargash held a meeting yesterday with Luis C. de Baca, Ambassador-at-Large at the U.S State Department to Monitor and Combat Trafficking in Persons and prepare the U.S. Human Trafficking report. Gargash, who is also the chairman of the National Committee to combat human trafficking, shed light on the UAE's strategy in combating the transnational crime of human trafficking. The country's strategy is based on four major fronts, which includes legislation, empowerment of competent authorities to combat the crime, rehabilitation and repatriation of the victims and international cooperation, Gargash explained. - Emirates News Agency, WAM
