Gargash receives French senators

UAE Minister of State for Federal National Council Affairs (FNC) Dr. Mohammed Anwar Gargash yesterday received French Senators Jean Francois-Poncet Vice-President of the Foreign Relations Commission and Monique Cerisier-ben Guiga, member of the commission who are on a current visit to the UAE.

The meeting discussed ways to further promote parliamentary, economic and investment relations between the UAE and France. Present at the meeting was Ambassador Ali Mohammed Al Zarouni, Director of European, Asia and Oceanic Affairs at the UAE Foreign Ministry Gargash said the visit came as part of efforts to build bridges between the peoples of the UAE and France.

The French senators hailed the progress being made in the UAE in various areas including education, economy, trade and investment. They also noted the steps UAE took to politically modernize FNC. They also underlined cooperation and exchange of expertise to achieve common goals. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
