Saqr Ghobash, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Information and Culture received in Abu Dhabi yesterday Ambassador Claudio Moreno, General Coordinator for the candidacy of Trieste of 2008 Recognized Exposition. In remarks after the meeting, ambassador Moreno said he was visiting the UAE to illustrate the programme and the perspectives which are offered by the Italian candidacy of Trieste to the 2008 Exposition under the theme of Mobility of Knowledge.

He revealed that the Italian Government has officially presented the candidacy of the city of Trieste to the "Bureau International des Expositions -BIE" (the ninety-one member countries Organization set up in 1928, joined also by U.A.E.), to host the International Recognized Exhibition for the year 2008. The decision about the candidacies (Saragozza and Tessaloniki are candidates as well) will be taken by the General Assembly of the BIE in Paris on December 2004. (The Emirates News Agency, WAM)
