A worldwide health campaign launched by UAE to offer health care services to needy children has given treatment for 400 poor Egyptian children. The mission arrived in Egypt from Morocco on the first leg of an international humanitarian mission that will also take it to Pakistan, Indonesia, India, Eritrea and Sudan.
The global giving drive, which is being implemented under the patronage of HH Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak, Supreme Chairperson of the Family Development Foundation and Chairperson of General Women's Union, was launched by H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in the Western Region and President of the UAE Red Crescent Authority (RCA), during the Arab Giving forum and third conference of social responsibility held last May in Abu Dhabi.
Professor Morse Amen MD, Head of Cardiac Surgery at Suez Canal University Hospital praised the initiative saying that it is for the first time such a massive campaign is being implemented worldwide to give free treatment and surgery for one million poor children.
Specialist doctors and paediatric surgeons volunteering for the Emirates World Humanitarian Hospital made necessary medical check-up for children and gave them treatment and free medicine. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
