Governor of Yemen's Socotra praises UAE for supporting Yemenis

Governor of Socotra, Saeed Salim Bahakiba, praised the leaders, government and people of the UAE for backing the Yemeni people and helping alleviate their suffering as the rebel Houthi group and militia loyal to ousted president Ali Abdullah Saleh continue to launch brutal attacks on Yemeni cities and exacerbate the tragic humanitarian situation in the country.

In a statement to the official Yemen News Agency, Bahakiba noted that the humanitarian efforts being made by the UAE to help Yemen, including the delivery of medical supplies to Socotra Governorate yesterday, continue to reduce the suffering of Yemenis in general.

For his part, Dr. Ali Al Makhini, director of Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Hospital in Socotra, said the UAE delivered 15 tonnes of various medical supplies to the authorities in the governorate. – Emirates News Agency, WAM - http://www.wam.ae/en/news/emirates/1395287344663.html
