UAE flag was raised at the ceremony which was attended by His Excellency Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, UAE Minister of State, Her Excellency Reem Al Hashimy, UAE Minister of State and Managing Director of the Dubai Expo 2020 Higher Committee and Director General of Dubai Expo 2020 Bureau, His Excellency Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansoori, UAE Minister of Economy, and senior federal and local government officials along with a number of HHC executives.

HHC is the official Heritage Strategic Partner for Expo 2020 which will be held in Dubai.

Commending HHC for its efforts in promoting the cultural heritage of the UAE as well as for its participation in yesterday's ceremony, H.E. Reem Al Hashimy said, "This special ceremony provided a great opportunity for us to showcase the diversity and richness of our intangible cultural heritage to an international audience here in Milan. I'd like to thank HHC and the UAE pavilion teams for their invaluable support and for their contribution in making this event a grand success.”

HHC participated in the parade raising UAE flags on the beats of national troupes – HHC designed a small heritage village with a live museum to take the visitors on journey to the past marine, beduine and desert life.

Ibrahim Abdul Rahim, Director of Events at HHC, stated that the Center had been preparing for its participation in this event for nearly two months. Praising the efforts of the representatives of the UAE pavilion at Expo Milano 2015 which resulted in attracting thousands of visitors to the expansive national pavilion, he said: "With the help of almost 270 participants representing various organisations and bodies, we artfully designed a mini heritage village that showcased the diversity of the UAE's culture and heritage. It was worth the effort, as the pavilion and its many attractions were widely acclaimed by visitors.” – The Gulf Time -
