Under the directives of the President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE launches tomorrow "Our hearts are with the Syrian people" campaign to help refugees survive the cold wave.

H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, the nation-wide humanitarian campaign to relieve Syrian refugees in neighbouring countries underpinned a well-established Emirati value laid by the late founding father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, which is to immediately respond to distress by needy and distressed people regardless of their whereabouts and circumstances.

'Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan has a kind heart, and always leads the way and extends his hand out to those in need,' he said on his twitter account on the occasion of the charitable initiative to be launched tomorrow by the Red Crescent Authority (RCA).

Sheikh Hamdan added that Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has spared no effort to promote the UAE as a world capital of humanitarian work through noble stances and integrated humanitarian cities.

'We hope institutions, companies and individuals will contribute to the campaign's success, as befits the UAE's reputation as global giver,' he said.

'After the snowstorm we saw heartbreaking pictures of the harsh conditions that Syrian refugees, especially the children, are living under.' – Emirates News Agency, WAM
