Hamdan bin Rashid receives President of Ireland

H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Deputy Ruler '&' UAE Finance Minister received in Abu Dhabi last Thursday President Mary McAleese of Ireland and discussed with her ways to boost ties of friendship and cooperation in all fields.



Sheikh Hamdan also reviewed with the President of Ireland the current financial crisis and economic slowdown and means to address their negative impact on the development programmes worldwide.



Sheikh Hamdan said the UAE was considered one of the world's least affected countries, thanks to its self-reliant investment policies.



President Mary McAleese expressed her country's desire to build a viable long term partnership with the UAE.



The meeting was attended by H.E. Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri, Economy Minister, Dr Hanif Hassan, Minister of Education, H.E. Obaid Humaid Al Tayer, Minister of State for Financial Affairs and other senior officials.
