H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in the Western Region and Chairman of the Red Crescent Authority (RCA), has affirmed that thanks to the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE is witnessing continuous progress in the field of voluntary work.

He said that the wise policy and the smart vision of the leadership stimulates the youth to become involved in voluntary work, since they follow the approach of their leaders and forefathers in this vital field.

In his statement on the occasion of International Voluntary Day, which falls on 5th December every year, Sheikh Hamdan added that the support given to the youth by Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and His Highness General Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, has qualified them to shoulder their responsibilities towards their homeland and humanity.

He said that the UAE youth are more responsive to the repercussions of the humanitarian situation around us and a source of pride for the nation.

Sheikh Hamdan also underlined the importance of voluntary work, since it is a national, moral and societal commitment. He also expressed his appreciation to all the volunteers of the RCA, for their role to provide humanitarian services, which has a positive impact on the affected victims.
