H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in the Western Region and Chairman of the UAE Red Crescent Authority (RCA) presided this evening over a meeting of the Authority's board of directors.

Present were Dr. Hamdan Musalam al Mazrouei, Chairman of the RCA board, the board members and Dr. Mohammed Atiq Al Falahi, RCA Secretary General.

Sheikh Hamdan stressed the importance of adopting creative initiatives aimed at rallying philanthropists, organisations and firms for the RCA programmes and creating constructive partnerships with them.

The board discussed a number of topics, including the programmes implemented recently for the affected people in Yemen, Syrian refugees and displaced people in Iraq.

Meanwhile, Sheikh Hamdan attended signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the RCA and Abu Dhabi Media Company (ADMC) for joint cooperation in different fields.

The MoU was signed by Dr. Hamdan Al Mazrouei and Mohammed Al Mahmoud, managing director of the ADMC.

Al Mazrouei said the MoU would open new horizons for cooperation to serve humanitarian and volunteering works in the UAE. He emphasised the role of the media as a strategic partner to the RCA.

Al Mahmoud said cooperation with the RCA was a key component in ADMC's strategy which is aimed at contributing in community development and building enlightened generations to serve Abu Dhabi and the UAE. – Emirates News Agency, WAM - http://www.wam.ae/en/news/emirates/1395282867086.html
