Hamdan bin Zayed meets Singaporean Senior Minister

Singaporean Senior Minister and former Foreign Minister, Goh Chok Tong, received Tuesday morning visiting UAE Deputy Prime Minister, H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

During the meeting, which was held at the Presidential Palace, they discussed economic and trade relations and ways to boost them through the proactive participation of the private sector to achieve the ambitions of the two countries.

Sheikh Hamdan reiterated the commitment of President H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, H.H. General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to boosting bilateral ties between the two countries, particularly in the areas of economy, trade, investment and industry.

He pointed out that the UAE was deeply interested in diversifying areas of mutual interest and commended the role being played by Singaporean companies in the UAE through their significant contributions to the country's development projects.

The Singaporean Senior Minister, for his part, said his country remained committed to boosting its economic ties with the UAE. He praised the UAE for its sound economic policies, which, he said, led to the country's achievement of the highest growth rate in the region.

He pointed out that Singapore and Singaporean companies were deeply interested in boosting bilateral relations with the UAE to benefit from the UAE's excellent economic growth and great opportunities in various sectors in a way that would further boost the existing partnership between the two countries.

Present at the meeting were Director of the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister, Sultan bin Khalfan Al Rumaithy, Chairman of the Federation of the UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Salah Salim Al-Shamsi, Finance Ministry Undersecretary, Yunus Haji Khoory, Foreign Trade Ministry Undersecretary, Abdullah Al Saleh, UAE Ambassador to Singapore, Saeed Al-Za'abi and other officials.

Also present, on the Singaporean side, were Minister of State for Trade and Industrial Affairs, Li Yashian, Non-Resident Singaporean Ambassador to the UAE, Tee Tua Ba and other officials. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
