Hamdan bin Zayed receives Al Jaafari

Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, deputy prime minister, received Monday at Al Nakheel Palace Ibrahim Al Jaffari, former Iraqi prime minister, who is currently visiting the UAE. The meeting discussed the bilateral relations between the two countries, and the two officials exchanged views about the current situation in Iraq and a number of issues of mutual interest.

Sheikh Hamdan stressed the importance of putting an end to violent acts in Iraq, expressing his optimism that the country would soon witness stability. He also emphasized the UAE support to the Iraqi people.

For his part, Dr. Al Jaafari, briefed Sheikh Hamdan on latest developments in his country and the efforts exerted to contain the ongoing violent acts, hailing the UAE support to the Iraqi people. Sultan Khalfan Al Rumaithi, head of the court of Sheikh Hamdan, and the delegation accompanying Al Jaafari, attended the meeting. - Emirates News Agency, WAM
