Hamed opens Zayed photographic exhibition in Abu Dhabi

Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Member of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Economic Department yesterday at the Abu Dhabi Cultural Foundation here inaugurated the Zayed Photographic Exhibition. The three-day exhibition is being organised by the Research and Documentation Centre at the President's Office to mark the 38th anniversary of the accession of H.H President Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan to the throne as Ruler of Abu Dhabi Emirate on August 6, 1966.

After cutting the tape to declare the exhibition open, Sheikh Hamed, accompanied by a number of officials, toured the various sections of the exhibition ground to acquaint himself with the items on show, including pictures which show the achievements made by the UAE under the leadership of Sheikh Zayed, as well as historical photographs in addition to accolades conferred on Sheikh Zayed by regional and international bodies in recognition of his efforts in areas of human development, agriculture, water conservation and environment.

His efforts in these areas had been featured in chronological order since his days as Abu Dhabi Ruler's Representative in the Eastern region in Al Ain. Also on show are photographs depicting landmark posts in the history of the UAE federation. In a statement after the tour, Sheikh Hamed praised the UAE President for successfully leading the country to great achievements. He commended him for his efforts in serving the country and the people and making the UAE one of the modern and advanced countries of the world.

He said the exhibition and the items on show, which portray the struggle of Sheikh Zayed, reflect the strong relations between the UAE leader and his people. He congratulated Sheikh Zayed and his brethren, Their Highnesses, Members of the Supreme Council and Rulers of the Emirates, on the occasion of the 38th anniversary of the Accession Day of Sheikh Zayed. He wished the UAE President good health. He also wished the UAE and its people more progress and prosperity.

He commended the organisers of the exhibition for a job well-done and expressed the hope that the show will get greater patronage from both the UAE nationals and expatriates living in the country. A number of dignitaries, including senior officials, members of the diplomatic corps, in addition to a large number of people from various walks of life, attended the opening ceremony.
