Light winds and hazy weather lowered the maximum temperature in the UAE to 36 degrees Celsius yesterday, with a minimum of 26 in early morning. Humidity levels however edged higher and made conditions sticky. The changing weather also had several parents complaining their children were, paradoxically in this heat, going down with sniffles and colds, with doctors also warning a mild conjunctivitis virus is in the air. According to an official at the Sharjah International Airport Meteorological office, the dusty weather will continue today and is likely to settle tomorrow. The weatherman pointed out that hazy atmospheric conditions are quite normal at this time of year, as the initial dry summer heat gradually starts getting tinged with ever higher humidity.
