Hazza bin Zayed receives United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees UNHCR

H.H. Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Advisor, received yesterday at the office of the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, Antonio Guterres, and his accompanying delegation.

Sheikh Hazza welcomed the visiting UN official who is in Abu Dhabi to participate in the 4th edition of the Crisis and Emergency Management Conference, launched yesterday under the theme: 'Preparedness and Response, Responsibility of all: a Vigilant Community'.

He hailed the great role being played by United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in providing relief for the distressed and affected people and humanitarian efforts all over the world.

Sheikh Hazza also underscored that the UAE would continue its humanitarian approach and support relief efforts of the international organisations, especially the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), which is gleaned from the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and continued by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan in order to provide assistance to the distressed and affected peoples, due to catastrophes, crises and wars.

On his part, UN official extended thanks to the UAE's leadership for its immense humanitarian contributions, especially to refugees all over the world, which resulted in alleviating their sufferings.

He also thanked H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union (GWU),and of the Family Development Foundation (FDF), for her generous contributions and humanitarian initiatives towards the underprivileged around the world and particularly the Syrian refugees. – Emirates News Agency,
