Head of UAE's NCC awarded France's National Order of Merit

Chairman of the National Consultative Council (NCC) Abdullah al-Masoud was decorated by French Ambassador to the UAE Alain Azouaou with France's Knight of the National Order of Merit (Chevalier de l'Ordre National du Merite) awarded in a decree by President of the French Republic.

In a speech at the decoration ceremony on Monday, Azouaou termed the UAE-French economic and cultural relations as distinct, stressing his country's keen interest in continued cooperation with the UAE in all areas.

He hailed the al-Masoud's support the Embassy's efforts to further promote relations between the two countries.

For his part, al-Masoud said the UAE-French relations saw significant progress thanks to the directions by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the follow-up by H.H General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, crown prince of Abu Dhabi and deputy supreme commander of the UAE Armed Forces.

He said the honouring serves as a strong incentive to further strengthen the economic and cultural relations between the UAE and France. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
