As the largest water festival on planet earth, Expo Zaragoza 2008, is drawing to close, visitors rushed to the UAE pavilion, acclaimed to be one of the most distinctive pavilions in the event.

Over 900,000 visitors have toured the UAE pavilion so far since it was opened earlier in mid-June, in a lineup of pavilions representing 104 countries from around the world.

Visitors are racing with time to tour the pavilions depicting the theme 'Water'. The three-month international event is dedicated to 'Water and Sustainable Development'.

After inspiring the world for the last three months on how to use the precious and scarce resource of water for the development of civilisations, Expo Zaragoza will come to an end on Sunday 14th September.

The Spanish media highlighted various pavilions, contributing to huge rush of visitors from Spain and other countries.

Long line of visitors at the entrance of UAE pavilion is a usual sight, and the exhibition officials maintain that UAE's innovative pavilion has attracted a large number of visitors. Apart from the exhibits showcased in the pavilion, a number of films specially produced for the occasion by the National Media Council (NMC) are also shown in a mini theatre at the pavilion.

UAE pavilion is sophisticatedly designed that it narrates the 3000 year-long history of that country in managing water. The films depict the contemporary history of UAE and its developmental march spanning three generations, with special emphasis on water and environmental protection. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
