Hodor wins prestigious President Cup on fourth day of Camel Races Festival

Hodor won the President Cup on the fourth day of the Al Wathba Final Annual Camel Races Festival, earning his owner Mohamed Mansour Ghanem Saif Al Khaiareen a cool Dh400,000 in the process.The race saw Mafsa - owned by Mohammed Rashid Ghadeer Al Ketbi - pick up second spot and Al Gharbiyah, running for Abdullah Mohammed Zayed Khalfan Al Mansouri, finish third.Elsewhere at the festival, which runs from March 10-19, Al Gharbi surged to victory to clinch the same amount of prize money for Abdullah Mohammed Zayed Khalfan Al Mansouri in the Shaddad race. Qasid, owned by Abdullah Mohammed Zayed Al Mansouri, came home in second before Saeed Rashid Hamad Ghadeer Al Ketbi's Mayohab came third.Al Mansouri also picked up a second place with Al Qahira, a first with Al Waie and a third with Al Hor. In a profitable day for Al Mansouri, he also won first place via Jawaher in the day's seventh race, while Fei did him proud with a win in the 12th.In the morning races, Abdullah Mohammed Khalfan Al Mansouri's Al Gharbiyah was the pick of the bunch in the Local Bakar category, finishing the distance in a time of 9min 25.1 sec. Mesehha, owned by Saif Mohamed Alamaimi, came second while the third place went to Shahiniyah and its owner Hamid Fares Al Khatri.In the second race of the morning session, Ali bin Suhail Al Ameri's Aryam won in a time of 9min 21.7sec, beating Abraj into second place. Salem Saeed Manana Al Swedi's Enayed crossed the finish line in third. Shaheen, owned by Saif bin Mohammed Alamaimi, won the third match in the Local Jaadan to win the first prize in a time of 9:36.8. – Sport 360°
