Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Lt. General H.H Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan said that that the continuity of IDEX with this momentum and volume of demand from all corners is the evidence of its success as well as its status as an event of economic, tourism and technological importance that benefits all.

This is especially true when considering that all nations aspire to possess the power of deterrence sufficient to protect their achievements, he added.

In a statement made during the inspection tour of the 10th International Defence Exhibition (IDEX 2011) yesterday, Sheikh Saif also said that the exhibition emphasises the sustained successes achieved by our country in the field of international specialised exhibitions industry, thanks to the unlimited support by the country's leadership.

He added: "We at the Interior Ministry look to the exhibition as an opportunity for the countries to enhance security and safety of their people by modernising their security systems as well as technical and safety services, with which they can fight crimes and defend their supreme interests against any threats posed at their security and stability".

Sheikh Saif toured around various wings at IDEX 2011 where exhibitors from 53 countries are showcasing the latest products and technologies in the field of defence, and hailed the efforts of the national cadre in the successful organisation of the event. - Emirates News Agency, WAM
