The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies has praised the UAE Red Crescent Society for its quick response to the plea of the tsunami victims in South and South East Asia in December last year.

”We appreciate the quick response of the UAE Red Crescent society as well as that of other national societies to the tsunami disaster that hit South and South East Asian countries last year. These efforts are commendable indeed”, said Juan Manuel del Toro, President of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.

Toro's remakes were made during the 11th conference of the federation, which is currently underway here. Khalifa Nasser Al Sowed, Chairman of the RCS Board of Directors, is leading the UAE delegation. (The Emirates News Agency, WAM)
