The International Labour Organisation (ILO) has praised the pioneering role played by the UAE in combating human trafficking crimes. A two-member ILO delegation recently visited the Abu Dhabi Sheltering Centres for Women and Children (EWAA) and lauded the experiment of providing health, psychological and legal assistance to the victims of human trafficking.

The delegation members Helene Harroff-Tavel and Alix Nasri, both experts on migration and human trafficking at ILO, toured the centres and were briefed by Sara Shuhail, the Executive Director of EWAA, on the services and facilities offered to the victims of human trafficking. - Emirates News Agency, WAM
