Implementation of the Green Strategy follow up Office established

Dr. Rashid Ahmed bin Fahad, Minister of Environment and Water has issued a decision establishing the 'Implementation of the Green Strategy follow up Office'.

The office affiliated administratively and technically with the Minister's office and will coordinate at the federal and local level to identify the vision, mission and goals of the "UAE Strategy for Green Development'.

The decision stipulates that the office will set up principles, policies and legislative frameworks for the transformation of green economy and building the UAE Strategy for green development as well as formulating public policy enabling the private sector to contribute in this regard in addition to the follow-up requirements for transition to green economy at the national level. The follow up committee will be supervised by Dr. Mariam Al Shenasi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Environment and Water. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
