A Sourav Ganguly-led Indian XI will battle with an Inzaman-ul-Haq-led Pakistan XI for the Sheikh Zayed Cricket Cup in a day-night encounter at the Zayed Cricket Stadium here on Friday, May 14 Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Cricket Control Board (ADCCB) and B.R Shetty, President and Managing Director of ADCCB, announced details of the match which offers a total prize money of US$100,000, the highest for a one-day match in the history of the game.

Though the May 14encounter is not an official one-day International, the Indian cricket team's trip to Abu Dhabi will be their first visit to the UAE in four years since they stopped playing in offshore centres. India last played in Sharjah in March 2000 in the three-nation Coca Cola Cup with eventual winners Pakistan and South Africa (runners-up) being the other two teams. (The Gulf News)
