Sheikh Faris Ajeel Alyawar, Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq yesterday praised President H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan for his noble and generous stances in support of Iraq's humanitarian issues.

Al Yawar also lauded General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces for his support to the Iraqis to overcome their tragic situations resulting from the current events on the Iraqi arena, affirming that the UAE leadership is proceeding ahead in the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan's footsteps who has backed up the Iraqis and stood by them at all their difficult times.

He also expressed his gratitude to Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Chairman of the UAE Red Crescent Society, RCS, for his unlimited support to ease the sufferings of the Iraqi people and improve their humanitarian situations.

Alyawar added, during his meeting in Abu Dhabi yesterday with Khalifa Nasser Al Suweidi, RCS Board Chairman, that the RCS confirmed through its noble and charitable initiatives world wide that it has succeeded in implementing the mission it has been designed for.

He further highlighted that the UAE has also recently taken a noble stance to the advantage of the victims of the bridge disaster over the river Tigris in Baghdad in which hundreds of Iraqi citizens lost their lives. Alyawar underlined that the UAE RCS is attaching great care to the Iraqi humanitarian programmes in line with the directives of Sheikh Hamdan in providing urgent relief supplies that will assist the Iraqis to overcome their current circumstances.
