Jordanian Prime Minister Nadir Al Dahabi received yesterday visiting UAE Foreign Minister H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan in the presence Jordanian Foreign Minister Salaheddin Al Bashir.

Al Dahabi expressed the sincere desire of the government of Jordan to boost bilateral ties so as to meet aspirations of the UAE President H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan.

Jordanian News Agency (Petra) said Al Dahabi discussed with Sheikh Abdullah ways of enhancing bilateral cooperation in different sectors with emphasis on economy, trade and investment.

The UAE Foreign Minister and his Jordanian counterpart briefed the Jordanian prime minister on the agreement they signed today for the establishment of the joint ministerial committee for cooperation.

Sheikh Abdullah, who is currently visiting Jordan, met earlier his Jordanian counterpart. The visit is part of continuous mutual consultation under instructions of UAE President H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan. The two ministers took stock of the latest developments at regional and Arab arenas and reviewed means of consolidating mechanisms of consultation and coordination for tackling issues in order to serve Arab interests.

The two sides stressed the need of Arab participation in resolving these issues through peaceful means and respect for the principle of non-interference in the internal affairs of other states in a way that guarantees stability, security and prosperity of the region.

In the context of bilateral ties, the two ministers signed a memorandum of understanding for exempting holders of diplomatic passports in both countries from entry visa requirements. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
