Kalima, a major translation initiative by the Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage has translated the book "The Happy Child: Changing The Heart of Education" written by an American Author Steven Harrison.
"The Happy Child" is one of the latest books that discusses the philosophy of education in the contemporary world in a deep and expanded way. It deals with raising and educating a happy child and is based on the assumption that child has the innate ability to achieve happiness and learning that hampered many theorists and theories as well as. It is an attempt to explore possibilities for providing opportunities for child growth within his relations with his parents, peers, family and his community without unreasonable interference on the so-called education.
The book presents the subject about reorientation of education and changing its goal radically, and whether education can transform from the current model, which seeks to turn children into elements of the economic output, or to experience effectively achieving optimal creativity in children.
The book was translated into Arabic by Dr. Shihdha Ismael Faleh, who has a doctorate in linguistics from the University of Kansas in 1988 and worked as a professor of linguistics and translation at the University of Jordan, then moved to the University of Sharjah in 2001.
Dr. Shihdha translated and published many articles in linguistics and translation, and translated many books from English into Arabic, including "Democracy Education", "Innovators" and "Higher Education in an Educated Community" in addition to "The Game of Media in the Era of Television" and "Essential Readings in the American Democracy". - Emirates News Agency, WAM
