In implementation of the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation has sent a further two relief planes to the Socotra Islands. The first plane was shipped with electrical equipment and electric generators and the second was shipped with 15 tons of food items to be distributed to the Yemeni people, who are suffering a shortage of food due to the current circumstances.

An official at the foundation said that the relief aid is a continuation of the sea and air bridge which was previously announced by the UAE's wise leadership to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people.

Officials on the Socotra Islands expressed their thanks and appreciation to the UAE for providing them with assistance that alleviates their difficult circumstances. – Emirates News Agency, WAM -http://www.wam.ae/en/news/emirates-international-aid/1395291654248.html
