Khalifa arrives in Casablanca

Casablanca - President H.H Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan arrived here on Saturday on a three-day official visit to Morocco. Sheikh Khalifa was received on arrival by King Mohammed VI of Morocco.



Also at the airport to receive the UAE President and his entourage were Prince Maulaya Rashid, Driss Jettou, Moroccan Prime Minister, Mohammed bin Isa, Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Chakib Benmoussa, Interior Minister, Abbas El-Fassi, Minister of State, who is also the Head of the Honorary Mission accompanying the UAE President, Mohammed Al Qabbaj, Governor of Casablanca, Isa Hamad Bu-shehab, UAE Ambassador to Morocco and a number of Moroccan officials.



Sheikh Khalifa, flanked by King Mohammed, inspected the guard of honour before been driven to his residence through the principal streets of Casablanca which was thronged by a large number of Moroccans waving for the August visitor.



The UAE President is being accompanied on the visit by a high-level delegation which include Interior Minister, Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister for Presidential Affairs, Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Advisor to the UAE President, Sheikh Sultan bin Hamdan Al Nahyan, Economy Minister, Sheikha Lubna Al Qasimi, Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development, Abdul Rahman Mohammed Al Owais, Deputy Minister for Presidential Affairs, Ahmed Juma Al Za'abi and UAE Ambassador to Morocco, Isa Hamad Bu-shehab.



Sheikh Khalifa departed Paris earlier in the afternoon of today after ending an official visit to France during which he held talks with French President Jacques Chirac. The talks touched on the situation in the Middle East, particularly in Palestine and Lebanon. It also touched on relations of friendship and cooperation between the UAE and France.
