FREETOWN: The UAE Embassy in Senegal has overseen the distribution of 900 food packages to underprivileged families in the Republic of Sierra Leone. The food aid was provided by the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation.

The food packages, which were distributed in collaboration with the General Secretariat for Religious Affairs in the capital Freetown, were handed out at the orphanages and mosques, as well as to families and victims of the civil war in Sierra Leone. Each package contained a two-month supply of food.

Beneficiaries expressed their thanks and appreciation to the Khalifa Foundation for its generous humanitarian gesture, which reflects solidarity with people in need.

Officials in Sierra Leone also expressed their gratitude to the UAE Government and its people for the initiative. – Emirates News Agency, WAM - http://www.wam.ae/en/news/emirates/1395283086263.html
