Khalifa holds talks with Karimov

President HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan held talks in Abu Dhabi yesterday with the visiting President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov. President Karimov arrived earlier in the day on an official visit to the UAE. The talks focussed on bilateral cooperation, particularly in the areas of investments, trade and tourism. Cultural cooperation also featured on the agenda. The two leaders also conferred on a host of regional and international issues.

For his part, President Karimov underscored his country's keenness to bolster ties with the UAE in different areas, especially in the area of trade and investments. The UAE, he said, has achieved unprecedented strides in various fields, thanks to its able and visionary leadership of President HH Sheikh Khalifa. President Karimov expressed his happiness to visit the UAE, noting that his visit was a measure of Uzbek commitment to foster ties with the UAE. - Emirates News Agency, WAM
